On 17th of May, <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-market-dominance-falls-to-three-year-low-of-40\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bitcoin market capitalization fell below 40%<\/a> for the first time since 2018. In the meantime, Altcoins have risen to a three-year dominance high after tagging a record combined capitalization of nearly $1.5 trillion last week.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Events began with BTC\/USD being sold off <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">immediately<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on news that Tesla was halting BTC payments for its products. However Elon Musk continued to add fuel to the matter via further social media posts over the weekend on Twitter, including criticism of Bitcoin\u2019s decentralization and how he \u201cbelieves in crypto,\u201d. It became a big topic on the community as Musk versus the cryptocurrency community began to look like a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">full-on war<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, finally resulting in Bitcoin losing its foothold proving that the most desired cryptocurrency is volatile. Technical analysts had predicted earlier that Bitcoin may fall as low as $40k and the prediction has come true.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the time of writing, <a href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/bitcoin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bitcoin<\/a> was trading at around $43,800, still down 9% over the past 24 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As market analyst Alex Krueger noted, that the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/krugermacro\/status\/1394176041732673540\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clarification tweet<\/a> may have unwittingly acted as a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">local bottom signal<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, as Musk posted it just as BTC\/USD hit a key 61.8 Fibonacci retracement level. His conclusion being \u201cElon Musk must be an outstanding technical analyst,\u201d.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where is the price of BTC\/USD heading this week? This brick-and-mortar showroom intends to host a variety of street arts as exhibits of nonfungible tokens.<\/p>\n<p data-v-5a136f3a=\"\">The gallery is being launched by <a href=\"https:\/\/kiwie1001.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kiwie 1001<\/a>, an NFT project born from the Latvian street art collective of the same name.&nbsp;Submissions will be open to anyone who wishes to enter, and the art pieces\/exhibits can be submitted only via the project\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/pr.report\/E7DFY6e0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Discord channel<\/a>. He added that charities with similar values as CryptoRelief \u2014 an Indian organization focused on supporting COVID-19 relief through crypto-asset donations \u2014 would be considered as potential recipients. Therefore the exchange has unveiled plans to seek a $1.25 billion cash injection through institutional investors.<\/p>\n<p>According to an <a href=\"https:\/\/investor.coinbase.com\/news\/news-details\/2021\/Coinbase-Announces-Proposed-Private-Offering-of-1.25-Billion-of-Convertible-Senior-Notes-Due-2026\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">announcement<\/a>&nbsp;made yesterday, this offering will be in the form of convertible senior notes due in 2026, available only for institutional investors who manage a minimum of $100 million in securities issued by other companies. These investors are defined as such pursuant to Rule 144A of the U.S. Securities Act.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"post-actions post__block post__block_post-actions\" data-v-c9d4ad56=\"\" data-v-5a136f3a=\"\">\n<div class=\"post-actions__item post-actions__item_stat\" data-v-c9d4ad56=\"\">\n<p>To clarify further, a senior convertible note is a <em>debt security<\/em> that entitles its holders to a stream of interest payments. Coinbase has outlined the specific terms of its offering as per the following:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Coinbase also expects to grant the initial purchasers of the notes a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional $187.5 million principal amount of notes solely to cover over-allotments. The notes will be senior, unsecured obligations of Coinbase, will accrue interest payable semi-annually in arrears and will mature on June 1, 2026, unless earlier repurchased, redeemed or converted.
