From bZx protocol hack, Harvest Finance hack and now DeFi platform Akropolis has reportedly suffered a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/etherscan.io\/tx\/0xf15623567231c67df2b8bcc5540236fbda2c3ac11ecbec427048f11b582cb869\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$2 million<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> theft in DAI token as a result of \u2018<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">re-entrancy\u2019 attack which leveraged a flash loan from dYdX derivative platform.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The attack was executed in batches, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/etherscan.io\/address\/0xe2307837524db8961c4541f943598654240bd62f#tokentxns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">pulling<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> $50,000 in DAI from the projects yCurve and sUSD pools, as originally <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Dogetoshi\/status\/1326963117356625931\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> by Block researcher <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Steven Zheng and Andrianova. The attacker succeeded in exhausting the pool after collecting about $2 million worth of DAI stablecoin.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Such an attack allows an attacker to withdraw more funds than what the contract holds, this is a replica of Ethereum\u2019s 2016&nbsp; <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/understanding-dao-hack-journalists\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DAO hack<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Akropolis\u2019 DeFi savings pool was audited by two audit firms:<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/akropolisio\/status\/1303237413171531780\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CertiK<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and SmartDec. In contrast to the heavy fall witnessed across all DeFi tokens in the past 2 months, interest around decentralized financial products continues to stay strong.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Data obtained from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/defipulse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DeFi Pulse<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on Thursday reveals that the total value locked across DeFi protocols has braced a new all-time high of $13.62 billion. Harvest Finance, a DeFi protocol that lets users automatically farm assets from other DeFi platforms. The protocol which currently holds about $890 million locked assets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Additionally, less popular projects, DFI Money and ForTube also saw a large increase in locked liquidity, narrowing up to 45% and 36% gain within 24-hour, respectively. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The DeFi arm has been on a tear this year.
